July marks the Directory’s 2nd anniversary and we couldn’t be prouder of this platform! Our efforts are all-in to promote all the therapists, social workers, and supervisors making strides to support our vision and ultimately make a difference for more patients
around the country.
Our latest CSD Supervisor Spotlight features LCSW Kathy Most, one of our industry’s “most” dedicated therapists and motivating mindset coaches. Based in New Jersey, Kathy began her counseling career by attaining her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Seton Hall University and a Master’s in Social Work from Kean University. In the workforce, Kathy has worked in inpatient and outpatient clinics and now operates her private practice, Touchstone Therapy & Mindset Coaching.
For over two decades, Kathy has specialized in helping teens and young adults diagnosed with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and personality issues. As a Social Worker, she provides patient-based techniques like Cognitive, Behavioral, Rogerian, and EMDR. Her goal is to provide her clients with “tools (that) will assist them with feeling more self-confident and connected to their authentic inner self.” As a supervisor, she’s all about collaborating with her trainees and is currently available to start new supervision relationships. She enjoys working with soon-to-be licensed therapists looking to get their feet wet with real-life case studies and hands-on training. Whether counseling or
supervising, she’s courteous, supportive, and committed to working together to help patients ultimately lead a healthy, balanced life.
Kathy enjoys being active in the field and participates in many corporate and community wellness events, industry conferences, and Stress and Anxiety Management workshops. She’s also a meditation teacher, life coach, and public speaker advocating mindfulness, balance, self-care, and self-confidence.
While Kathy (@touchstonetherapy) is not new to New Jersey, she is actively looking for newcomers who need to fulfill supervision hours. She’s passionate about guiding the next generation of clinicians and that’s why she’s an integral part of the Directory’s growth and vision. We commend her efforts and all of the supervisors in the CSD, the never-before network designed to facilitate the search for state-by-state supervision and promote the practitioners making a difference each and every day.

Mental health awareness is at its peak among our population, but there is still a severe shortage of therapists and counselors across every state. Furthermore, of all the patients who need help, many are opposed to taking that initiative whether it’s a matter of cost, accessibility, denial, procrastination, or the stigma that coincides.
That’s why many may lean on family and friends for advice, support, or some suggestions to start anew. However, these
close connections may not speak the whole truth, may not question or challenge some situations, and may not convey the proper counseling one needs and deserves. That’s where a licensed therapist or an experienced life coach can come in and instill change.
According to this article, there are many things your best friend or closest
family member might not say that a life coach would. While it’s encouraged to be open with others and set objectives for your well-being, working with a life coach or licensed counselor can be much more productive. This professional’s presence is non-judgmental, outside your circle, and trained to share tools and techniques to empower you to attain those goals.
While it’s easy to stress about raising a family, working full-time, completing checklists, and managing mental health, a life coach will objectively tell you you’re not alone and your situation is not as dire as you may deem it. While we dabble with all the minor details and duties just to make it through the day, a mental health professional can inspire you to breathe, take a step back, and tackle these tasks with a different mindset.
While it may always seem like an uphill battle to find success and get things done, a professional can pinpoint the wins you’ve already achieved and the productive path you’re already on.
Someone so close to you may second-guess your comments or sugarcoat a situation; however, a third-party partner will give it to you straight and map out a new approach to navigate your issues and concerns. A seasoned coach or clinician may be mindful of many people having similar problems and will reel you in to refresh and focus on what matters most.
In summary, someone who’s somewhat removed from your personal and professional life might
inspire a fresh outlook if you find you’re not making the right choices, managing your mental and physical health, and being your best self. Seeking professional help can provide a fresh take and concerted effort to help you find peace, happiness, and a healthy work/life balance. Rely on your loved ones, but don’t limit yourself to their sentimental support if you’re still struggling with some aspects of your life. It’s comforting to know there are dedicated professionals to lend an ear, share insightful expertise, and remind you of your strengths, qualities, and opportunities. Aligning with a therapist or coach can bring about change, boost your confidence, and be a tremendous asset to revamp your day-to-day routine and enhance your quality of life.

Happy Anniversary to the CSD!
Born in the month of July two years ago, the Clinical Supervision Directory proudly serves our nation by uniting the gap between clinician and client, supervisor and soon-to-be therapist.
If you’re a counselor or a credentialed supervisor, create a listing and make yourself available to so many in need. We’re simplifying the search for supervision and surmounting the shortage of mental health professionals across the land.
The CSD covers all 50 states and inspires our industry to engage, educate, and empower each other. Jump in and join the legacy
today to make a difference for tomorrow.
